Drone detection in France

France has a long tradition of large public events and a strict posture on drones above sensitive locations. For organisers that often means an explicit ban in the permit, with the same enforcement question as elsewhere.

Regulation

What detection gives you here

Authority

Direction générale de l'Aviation civile (DGAC)

The DGAC implements the European rules and additionally publishes national maps of prohibited and restricted areas.

Regulation

EU member state. Regulations 2019/945 and 2019/947 apply directly, including the requirement for direct Remote ID.

  • For multi-day events and parades a single unit on a central elevated position is often enough, as in our Dutch deployments. See the cases.
  • For nuclear sites, ports and defence locations the offline variant is the starting point: no cloud, no licence key, no remote shutdown.
  • The interface is in English. We build a French interface on request, and SMS alerts can be in any language.
